Ice cold Leather

How cold is it today?? I had to wake up at 6am to go to work and was very happy to see that nights are getting shorter. But it was short lived as I let my self out of the house and was hit by the bitterly cold air and wind. I have just started buying summer pieces and thought it's time to put my winter boots and coat away!

Anyway talking about buying new clothes, I'v been to Zara and found this black leather playsuit. Love!!

I actually went in to buy some leather shorts but ended up buying this. The white shirt is one of my other favorites too which is also from Zara. I think the shirt look really pretty with the playsuit because of the 'matchy matchy' peter pan collar detail. You can even wear the playsuit with a printed shirt rather than a plain one to add a bit of 'oomph' or use bright accessories and shoes. I wanted to do monochrome with minimum accessories because the playsuit is quite a strong piece and didn't want to overkill it as I think monochrome is best when kept simple. I get asked where my belt is from every time I wear it. It's from Primark and cost me only £2. I love Primark for cheap statement accessories like this. The leather bag is from Gap and it's one of my night out must haves because it goes with any outfit I put together.

Hope you all had a great Monday!

Sparkly Saturday!

I was so looking forward to Saturday. I have had such a long tiring week and was half expecting a lovely sunny Saturday because I'm back at work tomorrow. But what a disappointing day it turned out to be.Woke up to a dark, foggy, rainy morning and it kinda got worst from there really. To lift my mood up a bit I wanted to wear something to exciting but it was one of those days that nothing was good enough.

So I wore this embellished sequin skirt, which I normally wear on a night out(No one believes me when I tell them I bought this skirt for £15) I teamed it up with a denim shirt and this chunky knit jumper to keep my self warm and tone the skirt down because there's so much embellishment on it.
Shirt and jumper combo has almost become my statement look this winter because its a great way to keep warm and look good at the same time.
The top is quite heavy and chunky so I wore these sheer tights to balance off the look and show a bit of skin. They are cheap tights from Primark but they are as good as the bit expensive once I own.
If your wondering why I'm wearing black socks with tights and ankle boots, the reason is I have very tiny ankles and it leaves a massive gap between the shoe and the ankle, which I don't think look very nice and it also lets the cold air inside the shoe. So this is my trick to wear ankle boots and keep my toes super cosy and warm.
I don't usually do red lips during the day. Having darker skin against red during the day makes it look a bit dramatic and I don't like the contrast. But a day like today needed drastic measures.

Denim Craze

I wore this outfit yesterday to work and it's one of my favorites. It's one of my safe outfits and I dress this up or down depending on where I'm going. Most of the times I wear this with my black biker boots and leather jacket. I will post pictures of this look next time I wear it. I am a big denim fan (I even owned a pair of Denim Converse when I was about 9, that's how far my love for denim date back to). After graduating I worked for a large manufacturing company in Sri Lanka, where I got the chance to get to the nitty gritty of denim. From sourcing the fabrics to getting involved in doing all the different sort of washers to achieve a desired effect. So I am very picky and choosy when it comes to denim. I bought the jeans and the shirt from GAP. The jeans are about 3 years old and they are great. The shirts a very recent purchase and it's a very soft denim which is great for Spring/ summer or layer it under a Jumper.

My basics of wearing denim on denim! My jeans are quite dark so I opted for a lighter shade for the shirt. And broke the two denims up with a printed belt because I love prints and no outfit of mine is complete without it.  These ankle boots are great! They are from Limited Edition M&S, perfect for my size 7 widest feet and they are very comfortable.

D&G Fall 2013

Am I the only one in love with the new Dolce & Gabbana collection?? I Don't think I'v got this excited about a collection since Elie Saab. I am a sucker for lace and any sparkly embroidery work and boy! does Dolce & Gabbana deliver that in bucket loads. On top of that their timing is perfect to base the collection on the golden mosaics of Sicily's Cathedral of Monreale. Controversial or what?

Red Pieces are my favorite becaus I think it gives a real sense of romanticism. Well atleast to me. How they managed to achieve that by being inspired by the mosaic is beyond me. The collection also bring out the serenity of the paintings. The amount of attention to detail given to these pieces by D&G is incredible. From detailing on the shoes, belts, clutch bags to jewellery worn by the models shows exceptional craftsmanship.

I predict high street will soon go crazy with all D&G inspired bead work and prints. Can't wait! hopefully wont have to wait that long!

Kenzo love in!

Kenzo's tiger print jumper has got everyone tiger crazy! From H&M, Topshop, Vero Moda to Zara. Really good news for all who doesn't want to splash out £180 on the sold out jumper. I am so glad this old school brand made a comeback. I am in love! There's more colors to choose from but this green jumper is my favorite.

Kenzo Tiger Sweatshirt Worn by Elena Perminova

It's a great sweater to dress up or dress down and the color is just right for this time of the year when your trying to break away from the dull colors you have been wearing through out winter.

I put together this mood board to get me going! This sweater is on top of my wishlist. The print also comes in the forms of shoes, bags and even phone cases. Great news!

Lets turn to high street options that we can all rely on shall we?? I went shopping on a very busy Saturday and Couldn't help noticing all the Kenzo inspired Tiger print jumpers and t-shirts.

Topshop £28.00

Asos £30.00

Zara £19.99

I was spoilt for choice where ever I went. Topshop had more heavy knits with jumpers and long sleeve t-shirts, where as Zara had more lighter knits, with loose fitted t-shirts. But I fell in love with one particular jumper in H&M only for £14.99. The colors are perfect to add a bit of sunshine in to my dull winter wardrobe and I can wear it with almost everything.

Boyfriend Jeans - Gap
Bag - Oasis
Shoes - Dorothy Perkins
Sweater - H&M
Necklace - Accessorize

It was a lovely sunny Sunday. One of those Sunday's we haven't had for awhile. I wanted a loose, comfortable fit so I paired the jumper with a plain white shirt and my favorite Gap boyfriend jeans. I love these jeans because they are no doubt the most comfortable pair of jean's I own. The necklace from Accessorize bring out the colors on the print. I will probably wear this jumper every day if I can because I love it that much!

Payday treats anyone??

It's my favorite day of the month! Pay day!! As much as I love going in to shops and buying things, I think you can get a really good deal by browsing around first. For example I have seen this lovely skater skirt in Topshop with leather hem detail for around £35. But a bit of browsing and looking around I managed to find one very similar from http://www.missguided.co.uk/ for only £16.99 (below)

So here are MY payday Treats!

ASOS Playsuit in spot print £35.00

Been after a playsuit for awhile. And this playsuit fits the bill just right. I like the fact that it's got long sleeves and a self-tie belted waist so you can adjust it. I know people get put off by online shopping because of delivery chargers and whether or not the item would fit. But at ASOS -UK standard deliveries are free and it's guaranteed you get your purchase within 4 working days and what's more is that if its not right or doesn't fit you can post it back for free, which is great. I always order two sizes to make sure it fits right and send back the one that doesn't.

                                                         Moustache pumps In Burgundy
                                                                          £19.99

                                                             Sued Heeled Sandals in Coral
                                                                              £29.99

My obsession with shoes get worst by day and if I don't buy a pair or TWO to celebrate a month of hard work then it's just not fair. These coral pair is perfect. It's a massive Spring/Summer 13 trend and the color and the style is beautiful. Sometimes these strappy sandals can look a bit plain, so I try to look for color pop, stud detail or two toned rather than just plain black. By having two ankle straps it gives you a secure fit and the heel it only 4.5" so you can walk all you want and dance all you can comfortably in them.
How can I resist this Burgundy Moustache Pumps? I love embroidery because it can lift anything that is plain and give it a whole new lease of life. Whats great is this burgundy pair will go with almost everything. You can get both pairs from http://www.missguided.co.uk/

                                                                 Je t'aime Romeo! T-shirt
                                                                             £25.00

                                                               Je T'aime Reglan sleeve sweater
                                                                                £50.00

If you haven't heard about tshirtpolicy London, then you have to check it out!
                                                      http://www.tshirtpolicy.com/

They do really pretty printed T-shirts and sweaters among other things. It's great for Spring/Summer and these two are on top of my list. You can also find them on Asos Market place

H&M slim fit trousers
 £29.00

Missguided Wet look skater Skirt
                                                                           £16.99

My last two payday treats! Bottoms!! Last couple of days weather has certainly had a effect on me choosing these H&M trousers. The Slim fit is great. The fit and the print will definitely make your legs slim and long, add a pair of high heels for even longer legs. I will be wearing my coral new strap sandals and I can not wait for bit of warm weather.

Every body needs that perfect black skater skirt. If it comes with a price tag of £16.99 then yes please! I saw one very similar at Topshop with a slightly higher price tag which I almost bought but a bit of snooping on the internet got me to this beauty.  The leather waist band and hem line gives it that extra appeal. So this is also great if you want to try to the leather trend but not too sure you want to wear a all leather skirt. It's very flattering shape so you can dress it up or down and wear it with anything that's in your wardrobe. Great!!

 Happy Spending guys!
